Welcome to Fiber Technologies, LLC.

plastic rubber modifier Fiber Technologies AP101 and AP202 flouroadditives are homogeneous blends of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and surfactants and/or processing aids. These fluoroadditives are different from well-known Teflon® molding and extrusion powders. Fiber Technologies fluoroadditives are used for solid elastomer modification. Solid elastomers modified with Fiber Technologies are then used as impact modifiers (Fiberprene) for plastics.

Fiber Technologies AP 101 fluoroadditives are homogenous blends of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and select surfactants and processing aids. These fluoroadditives work by enhancing the physical properties of elastomers. During compounding, AP 101 creates a unique, fiber-reinforced network that significantly increases the strength and durability of elastomers.

Fiber Technologies AP 202 fluoroadditives are homogenous blends of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and select surfactants and processing aids. These fluoroadditives work by enhancing the physical properties of elastomers. During compounding, AP 202 imparts a unique, coefficient of friction reduction that significantly improves the internal lubricity of elastomers.

Researcher’s Comments:

“The data clearly illustrates the unique capability of AP 101 and AP 202 to reduce coefficient of friction over a wide range of forces while providing dramatic (88% in this compound) tear strength improvement. Enhancement of these characteristics, key to the performance of rubber parts, especially in dynamic applications, is possible in all elastomers with the use of Fiber Technologies modifiers.”

Lab Comments:

“Major increase in Die C tear strength.”

“Tear strength and hot tear increase dramatically.”

“Significant reduction in volume swell.”
